Deepika Padukone is the daughter of former badminton champion Prakash Padukone. The model-turned-actress did her schooling from Sophia High School, Bangalore and completed her graduation at Mount Carmel College.Deepika started her career by modelling in television advertising campaigns for Liril soap, Close-Up and Limca.Deepika hit the international scene when Maybelline made her their new international cover face.At the fifth annual Kingfisher Fashion Awards, she was awarded the title 'Model of the Year'.Shortly Deepika was chosen as one of the models for the Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar 2006, thus cementing her reputation as a supermodel.Deepika gave her debut performance by starring in the music video Naam Hai Tera from the pop album Aap Ka Suroor by Himesh Reshammiya.Deepika made her cinematic debut in a Kannada film, Aishwarya in 2006. Deepika Padukone Dislikes Beauty Pageants
Model-turned-Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone mentioned that she wanted to reserve a unique place for herself in the fashion industry but never by means of participating in any beauty pageants.
“I had set up an objective to become a model without winning any beauty pageants,” said Deepika, while talking to the choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan on the sets of her chat show, ‘Tere Mere Beach Mein’, which is being aired on Star Plus.
But when asked if she had any specific reasons for this, she did not mention any specific cause for this aversion to beauty pageants.
A lot of Indian actresses including Aishwarya Rai, Sushmita Sen, Celina Jaitley, Lara Dutta and Dia Mirza joined Bollywood after earning fame through national and international beauty pageants.

Aditya Chopra acted like a godfather to her by lending Rab Ne bandi jodi. “He and I are not friends. He is someone I hold in high regard. He holds a special place for me forever because he gave me a break that a girl can only dream of. Adi is also too professional to ask me about the script of another filmmaker. And I’m equally professional, so I will not reveal any details. But I can pick up the phone and seek his advice if I wish to. He is always there for his actors/technicians,” she adds.
“I started at the top with Rab Ne…. Now I have to work double hard to keep my place. An actor told me, ‘Anushka, you have been given a silver platter. Keep it clean.’ My desire, therefore, is to always try and put my best foot forward,” says the actress.

Neil keeps his car as his Girl Friend…
Bollywood Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh after his Newyork movie getting his Bollywood career in many ways.Thus he is so obsessed with his new bought Audi car that he won’t allow anybody else to touch it. The actor believes that a man’s car is like his girlfriend and so don’t want any other man to touch it. However his love for the car became public when Neil attended one important meeting while washing his car. He wont even allow his driver to wash the car, because the driver wore lot of rings in his hands which might possibly leave some scratches on the car. Sothe actor washes his car himself.Revealing more about the incident, the source said, couple of days back Neil was supposed to have a very important meeting with some brand managers and they were schedule to meet him at his house. So, when they reached home, they were surprised the meeting was scheduled at his garage. They were even more surprised when they saw Neil emerging wearing a torn T-shirt and boxer shorts with a bucket in his hands. Right throughout the meeting, Neil was cleaning his car. The brand managers found it pretty surprising but Neil was completely lost in cleaning his car. They initially thought that Neil was completely not in sync with the meeting, but later realised he was multi-tasking.
Doesn’t he realise that such behaviour might have made the brand managers feel disrespected? “There was no question of disrespect. Where is the disconnect? I talk with my mouth and I wash my car with my hands,” Neil said with laugh.

Fans of Kareena and Saif had been waiting for them at the Maharana Pratap Airport in Udaipur since Saturday morning and the swelling crowd made it difficult for the security personnel to keep them away from the actors. Every one wanted to take a picture of Kareena, even as she tried to escape the shutterbugs.According to sources, Saif and Kareena are here to participate in a Kingfisher magazine photo session.The two-day photo session that began on Saturday will be shot at the famous lake Pichhola and other heritage spots of Udaipur.After a busy photo session on Monday, Kareena is expected to celebrate her 29th birthday at the hotel. The members of hotel staff are quite excited about the preparations for her birthday.
According to hotel sources, Kareena has yet not issued any specific instructions about how she would like to enjoy the day and who would be in the guest list.
