I’m walking in Cloud 9 - says Beautiful Anuksha Sharma…

mainBeautiful actress in bollywood Anushka Sharma is all set to romance with hot Akshay Kumar on screen after her romancing with Shah Rukh Khan and Shahid Kapoor. She started her career with Yash Raj Films Rab Ne Bana De Jodi opposite Bollywood King Shah Rukh Khan. The kid of break any actor only can dream of. However she continued the run since then. Soon after Rab Ne banadi jodi she is working along side Shahid Kapoor for Parmeet Sethi’s yet to be titled directorial venture. Now the latest update on her career chart says that Anushka will pair up with Akshay Kumar in Nikhil Advani’s Patiala House.
“I loved the script the moment I heard it, However, I didn’t want to do anything impulsive. So I slept over it for a day and went back to Nikhil telling him I was most certainly on for the project,” says Anushka sharma excitedly.
How she feels about acting against Akshay? “I have never met Akshay Kumar in my life and I’m going to be romancing him in my next project. I can’t tell you how excited I am. First I got to romance Shah Rukh, then Shahid and now Akshay. It is as if I’m walking on a cloud9 says the leggy actress.
Aditya Chopra acted like a godfather to her by lending Rab Ne bandi jodi. “He and I are not friends. He is someone I hold in high regard. He holds a special place for me forever because he gave me a break that a girl can only dream of. Adi is also too professional to ask me about the script of another filmmaker. And I’m equally professional, so I will not reveal any details. But I can pick up the phone and seek his advice if I wish to. He is always there for his actors/technicians,” she adds.
“I started at the top with Rab Ne…. Now I have to work double hard to keep my place. An actor told me, ‘Anushka, you have been given a silver platter. Keep it clean.’ My desire, therefore, is to always try and put my best foot forward,” says the actress.

Deepika Padukone

Deepika in the atmost care of Prakash Padukone…

deepika_padukone_10054Beautiful and one of the growing beauty of bollywood is Deepika Padukone.“My daughter is a broad minded girl,” these are the words of the dusky beauty Deepika Padukone’s father Prakash Padukone. Deepika’s father and Badminton’s one of the greats Prakash admitted in an interview that his daughter Deepika can’t be held back in a home. She is a broad minded girl and doesn’t mind staying out. He says that whenever she comes back home, we don’t talk much about films because we don’t know much about the industry rather we like to suggest her to stay her feet on the ground not to get away with the glamour of Bollywood.
“When she will leave the industry after 10-15 years, she will no longer be a celebrity. She will then be just a normal person and no one will be trying to reach for her at that point in time. The roles she does are pretty down to earth kind of and she seems to be learning a lot from them,” says the badminton legend Prakash Padukone. Thus this shows his love towards her daughter and she is lucky to have such father and guardian.

Deepika Padukone

Deepika is very professional says Ashutosh

Director Ashutosh Gowarikar recently unveiled the first look of his forthcoming movie Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey. The film stars Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone in the lead and is based on the Chittagong Uprising. The director says that working with Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika has been an extremely pleasant experience.

“The combination of Abhishek and Deepika telling the story was a new experience for me. Deepika would be on the sets in time with her lines ready. Her greatest quality is that she is extremely professional, warm and sensitive, and there is the joy of doing every film enthusiastically. She is growing by leaps and bounds and her simplicity comes across in the character she portrays. With Abhishek, since he is a half Bengali the role came very naturally to him,” reveals Gowarikar. The director adds that he has always been fascinated by untold stories in history.

“When I took the script to Abhishek, he too loved the subject and was keen to play the protagonist Surjya Sen or Masterda. Abhishek has that honesty and sincerity in him. I cast Deepika because I felt that she had that zeal in her to portray Kalpana Dutta. It is a strange coincidence that Deepika looks a lot like the real Kalpana Dutta. Much of my research came from the book Do And Die by Manini Chatterjee and Kalpana Dutta was her daughter-in-law.

This will be Gowarikar’s third period venture. But he reveals that this film “is one of my shortest films. Most of my decisions come from my heart but this time my heart followed the mind. My wife made sure she controlled the budgets in time, so the film didn’t stretch beyond three hours,” he concludes.

Deepika on an endorsing spree

Deepika Padukone is one busy girl! She has been spotted on 3 different occasions in one and a half day. From on event to another is much in demand. She is either endorsing products or promoting her film.

“When people ask me to endorse a brand I first check whether my image suits it or not and if suits then only I go for it. In the past one day, yes you are right I have launched three products. And I think I am lucky that people are taking me as their brand ambassador,” smiles Deepika.

Deepika Padukone who launched a mobile brand and jewellery brand is closely attached to it, “today mobile has become a part of every human being. I can’t stay without my phone it’s like everything to me. I use it to make calls, mail, chat with friends so many things. When I am travelling I listen to music. So I use phone every time,” Says Deepika.

On one thing that girls love, jewellery, “I guess jewellery is woman’s best friend. Every woman has a different taste and craze for jewellery. Some like to wear diamonds, gold, silver, trendy, classic there are so many options. I am not that ornaments crazy but I like to collect them and as it says ‘diamonds are woman’s best friend’. I love collecting them. I feel this is an easy way to connect with woman. So I agreed to promote the jewellery brand,” says Deepika.

Deepika who has lots of films coming up talks about soon to be released Break Ke Baad, “Yes we have started promoting I. It was great working with Imraan Khan I think I enjoyed the most, working with this unit because they have given me ultimate freedom to enjoy myself. I remember how I and Imraan have enjoyed every minute. We use to have so much of fun all thanks to our director Danish Aslam,” smiles Deepika.

“I always wanted to work with Abhishek Bachchan as he is one of my favourites. And for the first time I have done something different where I play the retro girl who fight for independence,” says Deepika on her character in Khelein Hum Jee Jain Sey.

It was challenging to shift roles: Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone will be seen in two back-to-back films - as the free-spirited Aaliya in one and as the intense Kalpana in the other. The actress revealed that shifting roles was quite challenging for her.

"I did 'Break Ke Baad' and 'Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey' immediately one after the other. So I think it was very challenging for me in terms of my mind space to shift from the character in a romantic modern-day love story to the one in a period film," Deepika told in an interview.

"Break Ke Baad", also starring Imran Khan, has been directed by Danish Aslam and produced by Kunal Kohli. It is the love story of a young couple who break up and try to come back together and will hit the screens Nov 26.

"Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey", helmed by Ashutish Gowarikar, is a period film set in the Chittagong of British India. It revolves around a series of attacks that took place on a single night April 18, 1930, and its aftermath. The film, based on Manini Chatterjee's book, stars Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika in the lead. The film releases Dec 3.

While the characters of both the films are quite diverse on the face of it, the 24-year-old actress revealed the core characteristics were pretty similar and hence she relates to both of them.

"Even though one film is a period film and the other is a modern day relationship story, both the characters - Aaliya and Kalpana - are very strong, independent women. They are girls who have their own set of ideals, girls who want to be independent; so in that way I have identified with both characters," she said.

Deepika, who started her Bollywood stint in 2007 opposite Shah Rukh Khan in "Om Shanti Om", went on to do films like "Bachna Ae Haseeno", "Chandni Chowk To China" and "Love Aaj Kal".

This year she has already had three releases, including "Karthik Calling Karthik", "Housefull" and "Lafangey Parindey".

Asked about the apparent similarity between her character in "Break Ke Baad" and in "Love Aaj Kal", the actress said: "People feel that the films are similar, but that's probably because both the films are love stories. Just because the genre is the same doesn't mean that films are similar."

"In fact Meera's character from 'Love Aaj Kal' and Aliya's character in 'Break Ke Baad' are completely different. Meera was a more mature, understanding girl, who understood relationships, she liked the idea of being in love, whereas Aliya is a complete opposite.

"She believes that if you are in a relationship, it doesn't mean you have to get married. She doesn't believe that a couple have to live together and certain things like that. Her way of thinking about a relationship is very different. She is also very immature sometimes when it comes to relationships," she added.

Finally when asked about her experience of working with a debut director, the actress said: "Danish is a fantastic director; I think he is extremely talented and I'm not just saying this because I am working with him, but I think part of the reason for me to say yes to this film is because he came across as someone very confident, in spite of being a first time director."

Deepika signed for Race 2

Deepika Padukone is the girl to watch out for in 2011. She is fast leaving the other Bollywood beauties behind in the race for superstardom.

Ramesh Taurani producer of Race 2 has confirmed that Deepika will be in the main lead opposite Saif in Race 2. Guess Priyanka Chopra has lost out on this one too.

Now there is scope for PC to try and get back into this film if she wants because there's a role for a second girl. However Sonakshi Sinha is also waiting in queue. So we'll see kya hota hai.

Deepika to honor filmmaker Yash Chopra

Deepika Padukone is all set to honour filmmaker Yash Chopra at an event in Delhi on October 25 at the behest of the Swiss government.

Even though she hasn't ever met the producer-director, the actress, who has acted in his Yash Raj Films' Lafangey Parindey, is feeling honoured to felicitate him for his contribution to Hindi cinema.

A source reveals, "Deepika feels this would be a great chance to meet him. She plans to take a break from her upcoming promotion schedule for Break Ke Baad and travel to Delhi for it."

When the Swiss officials called to ask her to honour Yash Chopra, she immediately confirmed her presence.

She has grown up watching his films, and is a huge admirer of his work. Says Ms Padukone, "It is an honour to present Yashji an award.

I feel he is one of the greatest filmmakers of all time, and I have immense respect for him and his work."

Sources add that the legendary filmmaker too has expressed his fondness for the actress. "He was overheard telling a friend that he has watched most of her films and thinks he'd like to direct her some day."

The list o...

The list of Shah Rukh Khan’s admirers is endless. And joining the fan club is the hot new on-screen couple Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone, who will be seen paying tribute to him in Kunal Kohli’s forthcoming production, Break Ke Baad.

Shot in Delhi, Mumbai and Mauritius, Danish Aslam’s Break Ke Baad is a romantic comedy. Imran plays a theatre owner and Padukone plays a wannabe actress in the film. The two, who are childhood friends, fall in love at a tender age and then break up. The film tracks their post break-up blues and how they manage to salvage their relationship despite being in two separate geographical locations.

“Imran enacts Shah Rukh’s signature steps in the title track Dooriyan. He is also very fond of SRK, who is popular as the king of romance,” says Kohli. In the past, Imran had reportedly hinted at Salman Khan in his debut film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’s song Pappu can’t dance (2008).

Padukone, who launched her career with SRK in Om Shanti Om (2007), is a big admirer of Khan. She too imitates him in the film. “In a drunken stupor in Break Ke Baad, she claims she is Shah Rukh Khan,” says Kolhi.

“It's always great to be in Chandigarh" - Deepika

It was rush hour at DLF City Centre, IT Park, but the crowds seemed larger than usual. They crammed into every available space at DT Mall, expectant and eager. So, when Deepika Padukone, producer Kunal Kohli and debutant director Danish Aslam walked in, it was to a loud, cheerful welcome and the flashing of a myriad cameraphones. The stars, in the city for the music release of their next film, Break ke Baad, responded in style, “It's always great to be in this city known for great food and warm people,” dimpled Deepika as she took centrestage. Though her co-actor Imran Khan was missing — he is shooting with Katrina Kaif in Nabha for Mere Brother Ki Dulhan — Kohli and Aslam made up with their flattering comments. “Chandigarh is famous for three things,” they said, “Best food, best planned city and most beautiful women in India.”

Break ke Baad will release on November 26. Aslam, who has assisted in films like Salaam Namaste, Fanaa and Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, summed up the storyline in a simple line: “It’s a simple love story between two people”. Kohli was only slightly more expansive: “ Abhay (Khan) and Aaliya (Padukone) are an on-off couple. Their story is about learning to give space to each other in a relationship.”

Imran and Deepika at it again

Saif Ali Khan's partner Dinesh Vijan has ventured out and is all set to make his first film which will be directed by Homi Adjania.

Incidentally they have signed Imran and Deepika for the film. This will be Homi's second film after he made Being Cyrus; this will be Imran-Deepika's second film as a couple after Break Ke Baad.

Our source said, "Both Homi and Dinesh Vijan were keen to cast the pair in their film.

Deepika had already worked with Dinesh in Love Aaj Kal and once the promos of Break Ke Baad came on air, they locked the pair as they were convinced that the chemistry the couple shares works perfectly for their script which is a love story.

Deepika signed the film on Tuesday evening.

A still from Break Ke Baad
Although Imran has worked with both Sonam and Genelia in his past films, this is the first time that filmmakers are talking about him having 'chemistry' with an actress."

When contacted, Imran Khan confirmed the news and said, "Yes, it is true. We both had a lovely time doing Break Ke Baad and I am very happy that we are doing Homi's next." So is Deepika, we're sure.

Deepika beats Priyanka to Race 2

The months-long speculation over the female leads in Race 2 has begun to come to an end. Deepika Padukone has been confirmed for the sequel to the Tips Films production helmed by Abbas-Mustan, which will also star Saif Ali Khan, Anil Kapoor and John Abraham as the male leads.

Take two!
Ever since producer Ramesh Taurani and director duo Abbas-Mustan announced their plans of making Race 2, there has been constant buzz about the cast after Akshaye Khanna and Katrina Kaif’s characters are killed off in the 2008 hit. Moreover, since the makers declared that the sequel would be hotter and better than the previous one, all the top stars were said to be in contention. Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Bipasha Basu and Kaif (as a look-alike from the first film) were also spoken of as probable leads.

However, in the recent weeks there have been reports that say Chopra is currently the hot favourite for the sequel. DeepikaMoreover, Padukone opted out of Anurag Basu’s Silence, for which Ranbir Kapoor and Chopra had been already been confirmed. Never asked the reason for the speculation being that Abbas-Mustan have worked with Chopra before in Aitraaz and hence were keen to rope her in for the sequel.

But due to her busy schedule, the actor, who is currently filming Don 2 with Shah Rukh Khan and the rest of the cast in Berlin, opted out. But producer Taurani cleared the air by saying that the question of Chopra opting out doesn’t arise because she was never approached.

Denying that Abbas-Mustan could have spoken to her, the producer asserted, “Deepika (Padukone) is on for Race 2. We’re yet to finalise two other girls for the film. We’ll announce the names as soon as everything is confirmed.”

Deepika’s mothering heights

Veteran actress Sharmila Tagore is known to be picky with signing films but a lesser-known fact is that she makes exceptions for people she is fond of. And it turns out, Deepika Padukone is one of them.

Sharmila will be seen in the Imran Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer, Break Ke Baad, in which she plays a single mother to Deepika. Deepika and Sharmila share a very special mother-daughter relationship in the film.

And acting must come naturally to both since both Deepika and Sharmila are very fond of each other. The two first met on the sets of Love Aaj Kal, which Saif Ali Khan produced.

Deepika bonded with Sharmila and apparently when the mother’s role was being finalised for Break Ke Baad, Deepika suggested Sharmila’s name.

When contacted, Deepika said, “I was very excited to know that Sharmilaji will be playing my mother in the film. I respect her immensely, and feel she is one of the finest actors of India.

I am humbled that I got a chance to share screen space with such a great actor.”
