in the clouds
In the clouds....in Dutch it translates as: in de wolken.
This head was already finished in my head for almost half a year.........now it is finally finished for real. Normally I don't have a vision before sculpting ore finishing, I just do what feels right at the moment. With this one I new what I wanted soon after sculpting the head. Because it was already finished in my head I was allot less eager to finish the piece.

I made The funny looking dog girl last year in Dubai. I had to do some demonstrations during the exhibition and I decided to make one complete figure in the ten days I spent there demonstrating. She was sitting unpainted in my closet....she is completely finished now.
The head of the toad girl was made during my demonstration at the Dabida exhibition in 2009. I wanted to give a painting demonstration during the Dabida exhibition 2010. Because of trouble with the car I borrowed I came late and to late to do the demonstration. So I painted her last Tuesday.
And finally I have made a bird figure to put on top of the big girl her hair. I made many bird figures but I really love this one....he is my favourite.

I am working on a life sized figure. I often already paint the face of the figure I am working on, long before the body is finished. When the face is there I know what to do with the body.
I was a bit annoyed with myself for not getting the symmetry right....but it does make her seem more alive.

I will upload them true my Flickr account.We did a trade of dolls ....I am such a lucky Lydia :D And as if I was not spoiled enough, She spoiled me even more with a gorgeous bracelet, necklace and brooch!!!! There are no pictures of them yet the battery of my camera failed, I am charging them now, so I will make some soon and add them to my Flickr uploads.
